“ A great little cafe with friendly staff, some of the best music I've heard (covers galore). The bacon was crispy and delicious and the eggs were that rich orange you love to see. Would go again. I had The Hunte which was a good portion ”
“ This was honestly my favorite brunch experience in London. Sitting outdoors, amazing food and great service. Loved the green eggs and duck hash. ”
“ Surprisingly good! Recommended the red beef sausage, and the eggs taste good. A bit spicy, but acceptable. ”
“ Surprised to be asked if we had a reservation for breakfast at 9am on a Saturday morning, (took people watching seats by the window), but the food quality indicated why. Typical London prices (always a grin and bear it moment for us country folk...) Excellent food freshly prepared and presented well. The orange juice with ginger was lovely, would have liked a bit more for the price. One of our party had a vegan option and also very happy. Would come back again (and book first!) ”
“ I went to get something to eat with my friend. The salads were delicious. I love this place. The Italian guy who served us was also very friendly and gave us advice on what to eat because of our gluten intolerance. I'll definitely be back. ”
“ The Perfect Start to New Year’s Eve at The Black Penny On New Year’s Eve morning, my wife and I indulged in an exceptional breakfast at The Black Penny Cafe & Brunch in Covent Garden. It was the perfect way to start the day, and it set the tone for an unforgettable celebration to close out the year. The food was nothing short of amazing—every dish bursting with flavor and prepared to perfection using fresh, high-quality ingredients. And the coffee? Absolutely superb. Rich, smooth, and expertly brewed, it was the perfect complement to the incredible meal and just what we needed to energize us for the day ahead. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, a perfect retreat in the heart of the city. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel at home. The Black Penny Cafe is a true gem, offering exceptional food, outstanding coffee, and impeccable service. Starting our New Year’s Eve here was a highlight of our day, and we can’t wait to return to experience it all over again! ”
“ Delicious! Got the Burrata on sourdough and it was so filling! Paired it with an oat vanilla latte which was a bit too sweet for me but nice nonetheless. The service was so lovely. I was able to sit here in a Wednesday morning by myself for over an hour dining and reading/writing. Not the biggest fan of the pop music playing here but will definitely return regardless. ”
“ Beautiful enterior design, fast and friendly service, food was delicious! Excellent choice of breakfast. We had The Forager without the beans. Only thing I didn’t like was the espresso which had a bit more acidity than I prefer. But this is up to personal taste! ”
